Africa Economic Outlook

How do you place yourself resourcefully in our motherland?

With all the troubles the continent is facing now, never-ending uprisings, whether the recent protests in the region are an indication of the wave slowly gripping the sub-Saharan countries this is something I can't fathom. I have chosen to keep my eye to the prize " a better Africa for all" I have chosen to rely on information provided by professionals. Some of the positive economic indicators recently released by World bank is something to keep keep our hopes for the future. It is clear that we in the region have something to look forward to as young and enthusiastic as we can be.

Recent data from the World Bank has kept my mind boggling and exacerbated my belief and positive attitude to keep my eye to the prize. Some of the indicators show a positive future especially with much of our region (sub-Saharan) experiencing positive growths matching average global rates. With some countries indicating positive growths of upto 15% and 18%, we've also had the world's youngest nation our own Sudan indicate growth rates of upto 9.2%.

All this said, where do you as a young African place yourself to make this place better. What is your contribution to create a better economic outlook for our generations?. A lot has been said in the past about this being a dark continent, will we stay and wallow in the miasma of negative talk and ridicule?, NO, I have chosen to decide my future to make this place better for all of us, not only my country which I'll choose not to name but my continent which ofcourse as I know and believe was one up until some body came up and thought they should sub-divide it amongst themselves.

Anyhow, back to my question, where do you as an African place yourself to change the economic outlook of this continent?. There's lots of promising youths that have picked up great ideas and changed the economic outlook of our motherland. I was recently captivated by an article I read in the Lagos Times about this young entrepreneur one Deji Akinyanju who's transformed the entire fast food industry in Lagos, Deji starting off with one "suruluru" which has now transformed into a $100 million brand. I want to congratulate our brother Deji, other than have our brothers in the diaspora remit capital, why not have them find strategic partnerships and bring back some of their expertize?

We Africans are generally the progressive kind, this is what I want to believe the youth have to represent. We have great great African youths spread the world over, I'd want to believe that what we in Africa need at this point is to pioneer ideas that are of course environmentally friendly and encourage many youths to take up studies and businesses that would encourage investments in Africa's real economy; infrastructure, renewable energy, information technology, agriculture and communication.

What are the possibilities of relationships with economies such as Brazil, China and India?, why do we still have to experience challenges like food security, health and peace and stability is it a problem of leadership or is it just the idea of " you can't bite the had that feeds you", how come we African youth are still bringing back the same leaderships that have let us down?

I still haven't clearly told you what I'm doing personally to change this place, please do share with me what you plan to do as an African youth.
